40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

DAY 37 OF 40

Sis, real self-care doesn’t come in a bottle. It looks like stillness, sleep, nourishment, and breathing space. He knows you are weary and overburdened from trying to juggle it all. He knows you’re trying to take care of everyone else. He sees you and wants to give your soul refreshment and renewal so you can pour into others from a place of overflow and abundance. Jesus modeled it first and then invited the disciples to rest. He invites you too.

Paul reminds us that our body is sacred, not something to numb. Since it is the temple of the Holy Spirit, all the more reason to treat it with respect and kindness. We are a vessel to keep pure and clear for the flow of God’s spirit in and through us, like a conduit of His love.

True self-care is sacred stewardship. When you slow down, stretch, hydrate, and rest, you’re not being selfish; you’re saying, I’m worth caring for.

Listen, you don’t need to escape. You need to exhale. Self-care is not selfish; it’s a responsibility that only you can fulfill. Remember, self-care doesn’t have to be big. Every small act of self-care allows us to be more present.

Prayer:
Lord, show me how to truly care for myself. Help me make space for rest, play, and peace without guilt or shame. Let me know my worth and value based on who You say I am.

Journal Prompt:
What does true, healthy self-care look like for you? What one thing can you do for yourself today?

About this Plan

40 Days to Awaken Your Sober Mind

Have you found yourself at the end of a long day, wondering, “Is this glass of wine really helping? You’re not alone. Let's awaken your sober mind through presence, grace, and truth. We’ll explore what it means to pause, connect, and live in alignment. We’re going to look at what God’s Word says about freedom, peace, and wholeness. Each day, I encourage you to slow down and really reflect. Let this be more than just a reading. Let it be a rewiring. You are not broken. You’re being rebuilt. One day at a time, one choice at a time.
