DAY 4 OF 7

Gilgal Today – Your Shame Disappears

The place where a new generation of Israelites was marked for God carries a deep meaning: Gilgal, which means “rolled away.” It was there that God declared: “Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt” (Joshua 5:9 NLT). This liberating act not only fulfilled a covenant but also proclaimed the end of their humiliating past.

This story still resonates. Just as God freed Israel at Gilgal, He longs to remove your shame. In one moment, God removed the shame of an entire generation by reminding them of who He is and who they are. As you understand who you are in Christ and how much God loves you, the weight of shame begins to fade.

“Today I have rolled away the shame of your slavery in Egypt.” This promise is for you. Let me tell you today: If there’s no condemnation, then there is no shame. In Jesus, you are declared righteous, forgiven, and unconditionally loved. Your past has no power over your present or your future.

He removed, removes, and will remove our shame. The cross of Jesus is the ultimate expression of this truth: He bore your sins and humiliation so you can live free and with your head held high. Let the meaning of Gilgal touch your heart today. God is removing your shame. You can receive His grace and live in freedom.

Reflection questions:
• Now that you are free from that shame in Christ, what new opportunities or paths are opening up for you?
• Living free from that shame, how does your self-view and outlook on the future change?
• What action, inspired by this freedom, can you take today to bless others or move forward in your purpose?

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for the "Gilgal" in my life, where You removed my shame. Help me live in the freedom Jesus has given me, trusting in Your unconditional love. In Jesus’ name, amen.
