Think about this revelatory truth. Where is Jesus? He is in the Father. And where are you? According to Jesus, you are in Him! Look at you. You are in Christ, and He is in the Father. Talk about insulation. No matter what you are up against, no matter what comes your way today, you are in a good place. You are positioned in Christ, and He is in the Father. Nothing can possibly get to you that does not first pass through God the Father and God the Son to reach you. And, if it penetrates that shield and gets that far, you can rest in the fact that there is a purpose for it in your life.

But that is not all. Jesus also said, “I am in you.” Can you grasp it? Christ is taking care of the outside of you (you are in Me) and He is taking care of the inside of you (I am in you)! What better place to live your life?

As I write these words in my home study, it is another sweltering, blistering hot Texas summer day with the temperature once again over one hundred degrees. But, thanks to the advent of air conditioning, it is cool in my study. But there is something else that is essential in keeping our home cool in the summer and warm in the winter too. Up in the attic, unseen from the rooms of our home, is a thick layer of foam insulation. It is a reminder to me that although I am not isolated from the world around me, I am spiritually insulated from it. And so are you who have put your faith and trust in Christ. In His words, “I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.”

This is an awesome thought. The One who put the stars in space and created all things with the power of His spoken word is alive in me. He is the Father and I am in Him— but not only that, I also have the Holy Spirit in me to lead and guide me through anything and everything life will bring my way.

Holy Spirit, thank You for dwelling in me and for insulating me from the world. Amen.
