When God Shows Up: Real Stories of Faith

DAY 11 OF 30

Transcript:

This week, we’re reflecting on a familiar moment in scripture. One that happens not in an ocean, but in a desert. In the Bible, the desert often represents a place of waiting, testing, and transformation. It is not a place of comfort, but often a place where God prepares His people for something greater.

Take Moses, for example. He went from being a prince to being a shepherd in a desert. Yet, God was at work behind the scenes. It was in this desert wilderness that God met Moses in a personal and powerful way – in a burning bush.

God’s words to Moses in Exodus 3:12 (NIV) are a promise to all who find themselves in uncertain or difficult seasons: “I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you.” Many of the stories you will read this week come from people who have faced their own deserts. Times of homelessness, family loss, feeling cut off, or uncertainty about the future.

Like Moses, they may have wondered if they had a purpose, or if God had forgotten them.

But the truth is, even in the wilderness, God’s presence is real and active. He is not distant. He is with us, leading us forward, even when we cannot see the way.

This week’s testimonies show us how God meets people in the desert. It may not always be by removing their hardship immediately, but instead by giving them strength, hope, and community.

As you read, I encourage you to think about the deserts in your own life. Where do you feel uncertain or alone? What might God be saying to you through these stories? Remember, the desert is often a necessary part of the journey toward the home God has promised. You are not alone. God is with you, guiding your steps every day.
