Cling and Surrender: Embracing What Matters, Releasing What Doesn’tSample

No man is an island 🏝
There was a time in my life when I went through something so painful that I withdrew completely and isolated myself from others. At the time, it seemed like the logical thing to do—but I didn't realise how vulnerable isolation would make me. Left alone with my thoughts and sorrows, I was way more likely to sink into depression.
The truth is, God didn’t create us to live like islands. We were made for community—first with Him, and then with each other.
That’s why the third point on our list of things to cling to is God’s People.
We need each other!
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching. – Hebrews 10:24-25 NIV
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to find and become part of a local church. Not a perfect one—because that doesn’t exist—but a place where believers are learning, growing, and supporting one another in love.
Don’t be afraid to get hurt; even the most well-meaning Christians cause you pain, but don’t let that stop you from surrounding yourself with brothers and sisters in Christ.
Godly community isn’t just a nice idea—it’s a lifeline. Especially in hard times, we need our brothers and sisters in Christ around us.
A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity. – Proverbs 17:17 NIV
During our painful journey of Zac’s illness and his passing, Jenny and I experienced firsthand the strength, comfort, and support that comes from being surrounded by a faithful community of God’s people.
One of the reasons we were so excited to bring Chamatkar Every Day to India is that behind these emails, which may be written and signed by Jenny and me, there’s a whole Chamatkar family praying, believing, and standing with you.
If you ever feel alone or simply want to connect, don’t hesitate to reach out. We’d love to hear from you and pray with you.
Hey! You are a Chamatkar
