Gideon - From Fear to VictorySample

Day 6 – The Glory Belongs to God
Scripture:
Judges 7:1–8
Devotional:
Gideon’s army began at 32,000 men, but God reduced it until only 300 remained. Humanly speaking, it was impossible. But God wanted Israel to know without a shadow of doubt that the victory belonged to Him.
Sometimes God reduces our resources so that we cannot boast in our own ability. It may feel painful when what we rely on is stripped away, but this becomes the very place where His strength is revealed. His desire is not to humiliate us but to remind us that the battle is His.
It is not wrong to use our gifts, skills, and resources, God has given them to us, but when they become our security, we risk stealing His glory. The Lord will sometimes bring us to situations where we can only say, “If God had not helped me, I would not have made it.” That is where faith deepens, and His name is magnified.
Reflection:
Am I relying more on my own strength than God’s? Can I recognise moments where God has reduced me so His glory could be revealed?
Prayer:
Father, may every victory in my life point to You. Strip away my self-reliance, and let Your strength be made perfect in my weakness.
