God Hasn’t Forgotten You by Robert J. MorganSample

Nothing Is Impossible with God
What a beautiful truth it is that God considers nothing impossible. We have that on good authority from the angel Gabriel. In Luke 1:37, as Gabriel explained to Mary how the Holy Spirit would overshadow her, he added, “For no word from God will ever fail.”
The angel’s message to Mary is one of many reminders that the Lord is able to do anything and everything—miracles beyond our comprehension. Nor is this Gabriel’s opinion alone. For example, in Genesis 18:14, the Lord reassured the aged Abraham that his elderly wife, Sarah, would have a baby, saying, “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”
What seems impossible to us is an easy lift for our God. In theological jargon, we call this omnipotence, which literally means “almighty power.” God possesses unlimited power, infinite energy, and He can do anything.
This doesn’t mean that He always solves our “impossible” dilemmas on our timetable. Yet we can trust that He is more than able to do all things in His perfect timing and according to His perfect will.
One of the deepest lessons I’ve ever learned is the peace that comes when we resign our prayers to God by faith. Our deepest desires may be denied—or seemingly denied—but we can rely on Him to do what’s best. And even if He doesn’t, we will trust Him.
One might think that response would lead to discouragement and defeat, but the opposite is true. When we release even our dearest matters to the Lord, they are instantly in safekeeping, though we can’t know the outcome until the Lord has done the impossible in His own way. He may not do everything, but He does do all things well (Mark 7:37).
The God who can do anything—for Whom nothing is impossible—exerted omnipotent power when He raised Christ from the dead, and that same power is available to empower us in our daily living. It comes to us out of God’s glorious riches and is conveyed into our lives by the Holy Spirit, who strengthens us in our inner being. As a result, we never know how God will use whatever we are and whatever we do for Him.
Father in Heaven, thank you for this encouraging reminder that nothing is impossible with You. Deepen my trust in Your power and goodness today, I pray. Amen.

About this Plan

Amid the everyday rush and rumble, it can be easy to forget all that God has done and continues to do in our lives and in our world. The story of Zechariah and Elizabeth in the book of Luke reminds us that the Lord is faithful to work out His plans through ordinary, faithful people. Let’s reflect on several of the ways He wants to do the same in us.
