30 Days of Prayer: A Call to Care for the World's Most VulnerableSample

Day 11: Prayer for Job Opportunities for Parents
Reflection: Parents want to provide for their children, but in many parts of the world, job opportunities are scarce, wages are insufficient, or working conditions are dangerous. When parents cannot find stable employment, entire families suffer, and children bear the consequences of economic instability. God values honest work and promises to establish the plans of those who commit their ways to him.
When we pray for job opportunities for parents, we're asking God to open doors that seem closed and to create opportunities where none exist. We're interceding for parents who wake up each day wondering how they'll feed their families, pay for school fees, or provide basic necessities. We're also praying for economic systems that create fair employment opportunities and for employers who treat workers with dignity and respect. God sees every parent's desire to provide for their children and he honors their efforts to work honestly and diligently.
Today, let us pray for unemployed parents, for job creation in impoverished communities and for entrepreneurship programs that help families become self-sufficient. May we support initiatives that create sustainable employment opportunities and break the cycle of poverty.
