Paul rejoices—in the midst of prison, in the midst of suffering! Why? Because through his situation, people are hearing about Jesus. This has nothing to do with "positive thinking" or simply trying to see the good in everything. For Paul, it goes deeper—to the very core of his life.

He sees his situation from a specific perspective: The goal of his life is to magnify Christ and make Him known. His own well-being is no longer the central concern of his life.

What if this great, powerful God really exists? The God who loves you—and who sees your life in a much larger context than you might be able to see from your current situation?
