Healer: Encountering the God Who RestoresSample

Day 1: God the Healer
Most of us know someone right now who needs healing—from a physical challenge in the body, to a grieving heart, or a mind overwhelmed by fear or discouragement.
God spoke this promise over His people long ago. In His own words, He declared—“I am the Lord who heals you” (Exodus 15:26 NIV). His words are eternal. He still wants to repair, restore, and renew you today.
Then and today, He says, “I am.”
This moment in Exodus pulls back the curtain of Heaven to show us one of the many characteristics of who God is. In this instance, He declares to us He is Jehovah Rapha—the Lord who heals.
So much more than something God does for us, in us, and through us, His willingness and desire to heal us is part of His identity. And because it’s who He is, you can trust Him to meet you in every kind of brokenness—physical, emotional, or spiritual. Whether the pain is visible or buried deep, He sees it. He cares. And He’s not far off. He’s already moving toward you with healing in His hands.
Today’s Declaration
You are the Lord who heals me. I trust Your heart and Your timing.
A Moment of Reflection
- Where are you in need of healing right now—physically, emotionally, or spiritually?
- What would it look like to trust God as your Healer today?
A Prayer to Begin
Lord, You are my Healer. You know every wound, every fear, every place that hurts. I don’t want to carry these things alone. I believe healing is in Your nature, and I know You are already near to me. Help me receive what You want to do in me today. In Jesus’ name, amen.
