Corey LaJoie’s path to NASCAR wasn’t as smooth as many expected for a third-generation driver. His rise was marked by setbacks, uncertainty, and tough decisions. But through it all, he believed God had him where he needed to be.
Rooted in a Christian racing family, Corey saw faith lived out early through Motor Racing Outreach. At 15, a mission trip to Costa Rica changed his perspective on life and service.
Years later, facing a lack of sponsorship at Watkins Glen, Corey made a bold decision. Instead of chasing a sponsor, he donated a month’s salary to Samaritan’s Feet, raising over $135,000 for children in need. Later, he repeated the campaign and raised $75,000 more.
Corey didn’t just talk about faith—he lived it. James 1:22 calls us to act, not just believe. His obedience, even at personal cost, became a testimony.
During his son Levi’s premature birth, Proverbs 3:5–6 became his anchor: “Trust in the Lord... and He will make your paths straight.” Today, Corey and his wife Kelly continue to walk in faith and obedience.
Through his podcast Stacking Pennies, he encourages others to build a life of purpose—one faithful decision at a time.
Reflection:
James 1:22 calls us to be doers of the Word. Corey’s bold generosity shows that faith is active—it moves us to serve, give, and love. Living out the gospel means stepping out in obedience, even when it costs us.
Questions to Reflect On:
- What is one way you can live out your faith this week?
- Is there a step of generosity or service God is prompting you to take?
