Lessons From the Story of GideonSample

You keep getting yourself into trouble!
This week, we're diving into Gideon's life.
You can find his story in the book of Judges, which takes place in a time of chaos and cycles. The people of Israel had no king and kept falling into the same destructive pattern:
Chaos and oppression ➡️ crying out to God for help ➡️ deliverance by God through a leader or judge ➡️ peace and prosperity ➡️ slow decline into immorality ➡️ back to chaos and oppression.
Sound familiar? 🤔 It’s easy to look at the Israelites and think, "Come on, don’t you see what’s happening?! Why do you keep making the same mistakes and repeating the cycle over and over?”
But here’s the truth: we do the same thing.
When life is tough, we pray like never before. But when things are going well, it’s easy to get comfortable and distracted and slowly drift away from God. That’s when sin and other evil can creep in.
The Bible warns us of this:
When you have eaten your fill, be sure to praise the Lord your God for the good land He has given you. But that is the time to be careful! Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the Lord your God. – Deuteronomy 8:10-11 NLT
How do we ensure we don’t forget God in our plenty? By giving thanks!
Always be joyful. Never stop praying. Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Christ Jesus. – 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NLT
Friend, take some time today to thank God for all the good things in your life.
Hey! You are a Chamatkar.
