Let's Pray About ItSample

Listen
There’s more to prayer than just speaking. It’s also taking the time to listen. God, the Father, wants to communicate with you. In the Bible, the phrase “God says” is written 365 times. It’s an indication that our Father wants to talk to you every day. We know that we can go to the Father and share our deepest thoughts, intentions, and desires of our hearts. We can share with Him our hurts, our hopes, and our needs. And know this, God wants to talk to you!
As much as you want to share with your Heavenly Father, He desires to share with you. You may have a problem, but not only does He have the solution—He IS the solution. And who better than the One who created all things, which includes you—For you were created on purpose, with a purpose, for a purpose. He is the One who is equipped and prepared to give you the answer.
Your Heavenly Father wants to reveal the answer, guide you in the right direction, and provide the solution to all you need. Is your need financial? The Bible declares that the Lord has given you the power and ability to get wealth (Deuteronomy 8:18). Are you hurting or mourning? The Father not only comforts you (Matthew 5:4), but He has also sent the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to be with you and in you (John 14:26). Are you suffering from sickness or disease? He is the One who heals all your diseases (Psalm 103:3); more than that, He is Your healing.
How do you hear the voice of God and recognize His voice? You will hear Him when you believe, have faith, and know that He speaks to you. Listen to His gentle whisper in your ear (1 Kings 19:12). This gentle voice will always point you to the scriptures. You will hear the voice, of which Isaiah 30:21 says that you will hear God, right behind you, and He will tell you whether to turn to the right or to the left. Because you know the Father speaks to you, the scriptures say you will know His voice and hear Him (John 10:27). You will learn to know the Father’s voice by spending time with Him. Through prayer, you build an intimate relationship with the Father. As in any intimate relationship, you recognize each other’s voices the more time you spend together. God will speak to you through others, directly from the Holy Spirit, or His Word, and will always confirm His Word to you through the scriptures.
Reflection:
Listening and waiting for an answer is even more important than speaking. Remember, your Father knows exactly what you need even before you ask Him (Matthew 6:8)! Trust Him, and know that He not only hears your every prayer, but He answers your every prayer (Jeremiah 33:3).
