Day 8: The Most Important Choice in Conflict
Devotional
Every conflict presents us with a decision that shapes the entire course of how we respond: Which fire will we choose—Wildfire or Peacefire? This isn’t a one-time choice, but one we must revisit often, sometimes daily. Will we be driven by the heat of the moment, our emotions, and what we see in the Wildfire? Or will we root ourselves in the Peacefire—God’s truth, His Spirit, and His transforming love? Galatians 6:7 reminds us that our choices are seeds that bear fruit. Choosing the Peacefire means responding to conflict not out of self-interest or fear, but with faith, humility, and dependence on Christ. It’s in this choice that we access God's peace, power, and purpose—turning even the most volatile conflict into an opportunity for restoration.
Reflection Question:
Which fire has been igniting your responses to conflict lately—Wildfire or Peacefire? What step can you take today to trust God more fully in your response?
Prayer:
Father, help me to choose the Peacefire today and every day. Let my responses be shaped not by what I see or feel in conflict, but by Your Spirit and truth. Teach me to trust You, sow seeds of peace, and walk in Your power. Amen.
