Overcoming Spiritual DisconnectednessSample

Overcoming Spiritual Disconnectedness

DAY 1 OF 7

Recognizing the Distance

Spiritual disconnection does not happen overnight. It starts when we begin skipping prayer, or neglect spending time reading Scripture, or allow small compromises in our walk with God. Over time, this leads to a sense of dryness and distance. Acknowledging feeling disconnected is very important. Next would be to assess what caused it. Have you been too busy? Are you distracted all the time by your mobile device or challenging circumstances? Are you doing things that you know grieve the heart of the Lord? Spend some time today assessing the true condition of your times with God.

Testimony

John was once passionate about his faith, but a busy schedule pulled him away from daily prayer. He started feeling distant from God, unsure of why his spiritual life felt empty. One day, he read James 4:8 and decided to intentionally pursue God again. As he confessed his distractions and set aside time to seek God, he began to feel His presence like never before.

Pray

Lord, I confess that I have drifted from You. Forgive me for allowing distractions, worry and sin to create distance between us. I long to be close to You again. Please draw me near and help me walk in Your presence daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

About this Plan

Overcoming Spiritual Disconnectedness

Have you ever felt distant from God, as if your prayers don’t go past the ceiling? Spiritual disconnectedness can happen to anyone, leaving us feeling dry, discouraged, and directionless. We may still believe in God, but our hearts can feel disconnected from Him. Truth is, God will never abandon us (Matthew 28:20). He does, however, desire an intimate relationship with us. In this 7 Day Devotional plan, we explore practical, Biblical steps to overcome spiritual dryness, rekindle our love for Jesus, and experience His presence afresh.
