Totally TransformedSample

A New Life, Not Just a New Name
Following Jesus isn’t about self-improvement. It’s about surrender.
Paul says that he’s been “crucified with Christ”—that his old life is over, and his new life is now lived by faith in Jesus. That’s not just poetic language. It’s a deep truth: when we follow Christ, we give up our need to be in control. Our identity is no longer rooted in performance, reputation, or comparison. It’s rooted in Christ alone.
This new identity isn’t something we earn. It’s something we receive. And it changes everything—from how we see ourselves, to how we live, to what we’re living for.
But sometimes we forget. We slip into old habits or feel like we’re faking our walk with Jesus when we don’t “feel” new. That’s normal. Our feelings are both tricky and powerful. We must remember that our identity isn’t based on our emotions or performance but on Christ’s finished work.
Every time you repent from sin, every time you trust Jesus instead of giving up, you’re growing into that new identity. The Spirit will shape you step by step as you follow him.
You’re not just a slightly better version of the old you. You’re someone entirely new—because Jesus transforms everything.
Thanks for joining us on this journey. Remember: your past doesn’t define you, your purpose is greater than you think, and your identity is secure in Christ. Keep walking forward. Keep letting him lead. And never forget—you’re not who you were. You’re his.
