Hope When It’s Heavy: Trusting God Is Good When Your Season Is NotSample

Even Though I Feel Alone... I Will Remember I Am Seen
Loneliness doesn’t always mean you're physically alone. Sometimes, despite being surrounded by others, it's the feeling that no one fully sees you, understands you, or notices what you carry.
In Genesis 16, Hagar gave God the name El Roi (the God who sees). When she felt invisible and cast out, He saw her needs and met her with a miracle. I love those words “the God who sees”. I have also experienced His kindness and felt seen by Him when I felt unseen by others, and I needed a reminder that He was near.
He is El Roi to you, too. He sees the burdens you carry that no one else knows about. He sees the tears you cry when no one is around. He stays and draws near and wants you to remember that you are not forsaken. I'm praying that He comforts you and meets your every need.
Another important truth is that God created you to live within a community. As you seek His comfort, please keep your heart open to the friendships He’s nudging you to invest in. We were designed to be in relationship with others; we need each other. Invite your people in, and let them love you. Especially when you feel weary, it is such a great gift when my friends let me “in” on what they’re navigating. Sometimes the enemy likes to make us think we're alone and no one cares, when in fact we have friends or loved ones who genuinely would love to know when we're wrestling with something hard and want to pray with us, and lovingly support us in practical ways. The first brave step to letting others in is to reach out and open up about what you're walking through. If that's you today, I hope you'll send that text or make a call now.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for being El Roi—the God who sees me. When I feel invisible to the world, remind me that I am fully known and fully loved by You. Even in my loneliest moments, You are near. Thank You for Your kindness. Please help my heart remember Your faithfulness and to invite my friends into my battles so I can also be encouraged by the people You've placed around me. Please give me the discernment and grace to lovingly be such a friend to them, too. Amen.
