Hebrews Part 2: Selfish ChristianitySample

Shallow Christianity Ends Here
Perhaps the cure to shallow Christianity, the increasing mental health issues of younger generations, and the lack of meaning and purpose for life (which is spurring an increase in addiction, depression, and suicide) is not that we are thinking wrong about a few things.
Maybe our problem is in how we think.
Hebrews teaches us how to allow the Holy Spirit to renew our minds and redirect our thinking.
The result of shallow Christianity has been selfish Christianity and a distorted view of how we think about God and His Word.
There has been a marked shift in the Western Church from prioritizing the glory of God and the good of His people to an intensely selfish focus on individual self-esteem, personal achievement, and private Bible interpretation focused on actualizing one’s potential rather than honoring God.
We must be mindful of where we are at in our thinking of the Bible and how we choose to interpret it. If our thinking doesn’t put the focus on to Jesus and His mighty work of salvation, then we have a problem that needs to be addressed.
How are you currently thinking about God and His Word? What needs to change so that your focus points to Jesus rather than yourself or other people?
