Multivitamins - Fuel Your Faith in 5-Minutes (Pt.1)Sample

Day Five: When Discouragement Is the Driver
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go." (Joshua 1:9 NIV)
The command given to Joshua here translates so well into our own lives today. Let’s look at it in a couple of parts.
‘Have I not commanded you?’ Think of a tough situation you are facing right now – one which you just know you don’t really want to face. And now think about how you got there. Often, in the midst of God's call, a difficult spot may just part of the process. But difficult doesn’t mean it’s time to throw in the towel; it’s actually a great time to remember who’s in charge.
The next part of the verse emphasizes the same message as the earlier part — that we’re to be strong in the face of fear. Not because it isn’t present, but because God’s power inside of us is stronger. Know this precious truth today.
Food for thought: What area of discouragement or disappointment that you're currently facing (however big or small) have you allowed to stop you in your tracks? Pray and ask what God might be saying to you about that today.
