DiscernmentSample

A lamp for my feet
Here are the alternatives. The righteous are wise and walk in God’s words because His ways are right. They discern the way to go because they understand what God has to say. The rebellious stumble because they cannot discern the way to go; they don’t know God’s paths.
Here is the challenge for us. Do we know God’s Word and see the way to go or are we stumbling around because we have ignored His Word? The psalmist writes, ‘Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path’ (Psalm 119:105).
Amy Grant sang in Thy Word (writers: Grant, Smith; 1984):
‘When I feel afraid
Think I've lost my way
Still you're there right beside me
And nothing will I fear
As long as you are near
Please be near me to the end.’
God is with us, always. Spend time reading His Word. Ask questions, think about it and pray about what you have read. Give it time. Come to know His Word, let it light your path and help you discern the way to go.

About this Plan

Discernment is defined as the ability to judge well; to be able to tell things apart. Today, the line between truth and fiction is becoming harder to discern but God’s Word promises us that if we have the mind of Christ, we will be able to understand and discern the things of the Spirit; the Truth. Pray for understanding as you follow along with this 5-day plan.
