Developing Spiritual Effectiveness Through Daily Intimacy With GodSample

A LIFE OF CONSTANT SELF-EXAMINATION
Spiritual discipline involves regular self-examination to ensure continued growth and alignment with God’s purpose. Paul instructed believers, “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves” (2 Corinthians 13:5). Without self-examination, you might drift spiritually without even realizing it.
A disciplined believer intentionally evaluates their spiritual health regularly. David exemplified this when he prayed, “Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts” (Psalm 139:23). This humility allowed God to identify hidden issues and guide him back onto the right path.
Always remember, consistent spiritual check-ups safeguard you from spiritual blindness and complacency. A life lacking regular introspection risks subtle spiritual decay. Many people overlook small deviations from God’s ways, which eventually lead to major spiritual setbacks. Your spiritual life is the foundation of your life, and it must be sound [Ps 11:3. Prov. 18:14]. The strength, power and health in your spirit man will determine the amount of power that will run through the entire super-structure of your life; physical, emotional, mental, marital, financial, and social.
Evaluate your spiritual condition regularly. Are you growing closer to God, or drifting away gradually? Allow God’s Word to be the standard by which you measure your spiritual state. Regular self-examination ensures you remain spiritually alert, growing in alignment with His purpose.
THOUGHT TO PONDER:
Are you consistently examining your spiritual life, or have you allowed complacency to set in? What practical steps can you take today to maintain a healthy spiritual evaluation routine?
PRAYER:
Lord, help me cultivate the habit of regular spiritual self-examination. Reveal areas of my life that need correction and help me realign continually with Your Word. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
