Journeying to Easter - Part 1Sample

Ask seek knock
‘Ask… seek… and… knock…’ These words from Jesus remind us of God’s faithfulness and generosity. During Lent, a season of reflection, fasting, and prayer, will you take the opportunity to draw near and deepen your trust in God’s provision and goodness?
When we ask, we acknowledge our dependence on God. Lent challenges us to let go of self-sufficiency and humbly come to God with our needs. Whether we ask for strength to resist temptation, wisdom in difficult decisions, or forgiveness for sins, we’re assured that God hears and responds in love.
Seeking means perseverance. In Lent, we seek to align our hearts with God’s will through prayer, fasting, and acts of service. Seeking God will uncover areas of our lives that need healing or surrender. Know that Jesus promises that those who seek will find Him.
Knocking symbolises action and faith. As we knock on the door of God’s kingdom, we are called to live out His love in tangible ways. Matthew 7:12, the ‘golden rule’, reminds us to treat others with the same care we desire, reflecting God’s love to the world.
This Lenten season, let us ask with trust, seek with perseverance, and knock with faith. In doing so, we’ll experience the fullness of God’s grace and grow closer to Him. God is ready to open the door – are you willing to knock?

About this Plan

“In these next days and weeks leading up to Easter we’ll explore different scriptures. Each verse a thread in the tapestry of God’s great big redemption story – all culminating in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. In this Easter season, let’s slow down and create a regular rhythm of remembrance together.” (Lent – Lucy Weil)
