The Breath of LentSample

A pure heart. A steadfast spirit. Do you know someone pure of heart? You know the person who feels innocent, that you are a little more careful about what jokes or topics you broach because you don’t want to “corrupt” them? What about a steadfast spirit? The person who remains steady in the face of life’s storms. The person who’s resolve to do right, whose love of the Lord remains constant regardless of their circumstances. Today, we ask to be pure of heart and steadfast spirit. How do we do that? By being in the presence of the Lord. Lord, keep me in your presence, Holy Spirit, stay with me.
Inhale: Create in me a pure heart, O God
Exhale: and renew a steadfast spirit within me
