Lord Teach Me to PraySample

An Unexpected Diagnosisš«¢
āIn two days, everything can change.ā
I had written these words down because I had just experienced it. We had an incredible evening where 80 people gave their lives to Jesus, and I said with full faith from the stage, āBy His wounds, we are healedā¦ā
Two days later, I felt something very unusual in my chest. It radiated to my right arm and hurt. And two days after that, I was in the hospital.
These are the moments when you think, "This is it."
Well, would you have thought that I, the one who writes to you daily about faith, trust, and miracles, would react this way?
We are all the same! We are all born the same way and wake up each morning in a similar manner. What happens from then on is up to each individual.
Picture this: We wake up like an empty glass, and the question every morning is: āWhat will you fill your glass with?ā
With prayer and a brief moment to reflect on who God is and what He is capable of, or with nothing? Yes, exactly: with nothing. With the nothing we humans call āour own strength.ā Do you know what the Bible says about that:
LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow. (Psalm 144:3-4)
I encourage you to continue filling your glass with prayer, even in challenging times. Pray, shout out verses like this from Psalm 143:
āFor your nameās sake, Lord, preserve my life; in your righteousness, bring me out of trouble.ā (Psalm 143:11 NIV)
If you donāt fill your glass with prayer, donāt be surprised if your heart remains empty.
To keep it short ā two days after I ended up in the hospital, I learned that the diagnosis was harmless. But in those two days, I got to experience something special: How God gave me unexpected joy and peace in that time of fear and waiting!
Please continue to choose to fill your glass with the right things. I pray that you also experience this unexpected joy and His peace while you are still waiting for your miracle!
You are a miracle!

About this Plan

We know as Christians that prayer is important. But if you were honest with yourself, how often do you pray? The rhythm of prayer should be something to us that is as easy as taking a breath - letās spend some time together working on that rhythm!
