When I'm Scared

Lord,

My ear turns toward the news of war and difficulty. Thoughts of my husband come to mind, and fear grips me. I come undone as worry rips through me. This mental tug-of-war wears me thin. It attempts to conquer the truth of Your Word. No doubt, this life as a military wife isn’t always easy, but You faithfully lead me always. Remind me and reassure me in these difficult times.

Forgive me for taking in what the world dishes out and for tuning in when I should tune out. Immerse me in Your peace. Take me into that quiet place of communion with You, a space where faithfulness paints the walls of my mind. Surround and protect my heart, purging it of the angst, worry, and anxiety. Your love coats me, casting aside the taunting fear. So, I will remember Your salvation and the power it wields. Nothing else compares to You, Jesus.

Thank You for reassuring me with Your peace.
