Living in Increase (Part 6) - Increase in LeadershipSample

The Authority of Jesus
To establish our authority in leadership, we must first look at the ultimate example of authority and leadership, Jesus. Colossians 2:6-10 reminds us that we must build our lives on Jesus. We are to remain strong in the teachings of Jesus and follow Him daily. We are not to be swayed by false teachings or “nonsense.” Jesus is with us even now. If we are to act in authority over others, we must first align ourselves with Jesus and ensure we follow His lead. To follow His authority, we must know what it is and learn His teachings and authority through prayer and the Word.
In Matthew 28:18, Jesus tells the disciples that He has all authority in Heaven and Earth. Later this week, we will discuss the importance of following earthly authorities (bosses, pastors, and government officials). However, it is essential to remember that Jesus is at the top of this authority chain. He has the final and ultimate say in all that we do!
