A Year in Luke/ActsSample

During a conversation with the Pharisees, Jesus quotes a passage of scripture from Psalm 118, which is a chapter that describes the long awaited Savior.
The stone that the builders rejected became the cornerstone. Psalm 118:22
We don’t use the term cornerstone very often these days. In their context, it was the one stone in the whole building that held the weight of the structure. Without that cornerstone, the integrity of the house would be in question, and it would ultimately fall.
The picture of Jesus as the cornerstone of our church rings true, especially when you think of the complexity of keeping a community of people unified. It is impossible without Jesus Christ being the center of your mission. Jesus is not only the cornerstone of the Body of Christ, but he is also the rock that we all individually cling to. He is the one who mends our broken pieces and makes us whole again.
