The Happy Days and the Ones That Aren'tSample

When things get uncomfortable, what’s your typical response? Often, people refer to the human tendency to respond to stress or discomfort with one of the following: flight, fight, or freeze. We fight against it, run away from it, or get stuck by it. While these may be natural responses to difficult situations or overwhelming emotions, there’s a better way we can choose.
In Scripture, James reminds us that every challenging situation or feeling in life is an opportunity to grow. That doesn’t mean we enjoy dealing with those things, but it does mean we can reframe the way we see them. Rather than being defeated, discouraged, or choosing not to deal, we can step into challenges in our lives looking at them as chances for God to grow us in new ways.
Are you facing a difficult circumstance, challenging emotion, or a hard situation right now? As you navigate through it this week, look for ways God is growing and changing you through this season.
