HaggaiSample

Last week we saw that the people obeyed and God blessed their work. As a result of the obedience, promises are given that the glory of “this present house” will be greater than the previous “house.” The book ends with a seemingly bizarre word from the Lord to ask the priest what makes something clean or unclean, and that the Lord will make Zerubbabel a signet ring.
Last week, three times in Chapter 1, Haggai addressed a list of people:
- Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel (the governor from the royal line)
- Joshua son of Jozadak (High priest)
- The people
This is going to be an important part of the study this week to determine the prophetic events Haggai is pointing forward toward.
