Reading With the People of God - #5 We Believe.Sample

Memorization Challenge of the Month:
I believe in God, the Father almighty, creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary. He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; he descended to hell. The third day he rose again from the dead. He ascended to heaven and is seated at the right hand of God the Father almighty. From there he will come to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Christian church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Reading with the People of God Primer:
As you prepare for today's reading, imagine all the people on this plan reading God's Word with you. As you think, pray in solidarity and faith that God is working and moving among us!
Heavenly Father, as we come before Your Word, we seek Your guidance and wisdom. Illuminate our hearts and minds as we read your Word together. Open our eyes to see Your truth, our ears to hear Your voice, and our hearts to embrace Your teachings. May Your Spirit lead us into a deeper understanding and a closer walk with You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
About this Plan

This is the fifth part of a reading plan through the Bible, following the lectionary pattern of reading in the Psalms, Old Testament, and New Testament each day. In addition, each day this month will feature a memorization challenge for the Apostles' Creed, and there will be brief devotionals from different people in our Church scattered throughout the plan.
