Matthew 4:24 (S2-E3)Sample

Matthew 4:24 (S2-E3)

DAY 1 OF 4

You are there

Memorizing Bible verses, do you ever do that? Simply memorizing God's word. It is exactly what Matthew wants, and does! He learns a verse from Psalm 139. In my own words, "As I went up to heaven, You are there. Did I descend to the lowest places or even death, You are there too."

You see Matthew learning the words, but still struggling with their meaning himself. What can he do with it? What does it mean concretely? And - let's be honest - sometimes that's also quite difficult, right?

"God is everywhere!"

There is no place you can go where God is not. He is there, He is everywhere. In fact, one of His names is "I Am," "I Am."

From the heights to the depths. From the past to the future. At the beautiful and at the difficult. At the things that make you proud and those that make you feel a sense of shame.

God is there.

He knows.

It knows it.

Another little detail, an encouragement for you for today. At the beginning of verse 7 it says, "How can I escape Your attention?"

God is not just "present" as a silent presence who is there but not really involved. No! He is involved and attentively present to what is going on in your life. Active and near.

Remember today that God is actively with you. Turn to Him today when you have a question. Thank Him when you see something beautiful from Him. Call on His help when you are at a loss for words. Or just talk to Him. He loves to hear from you.

Enjoy today!

Take the following questions to think about:

  • Do you experience that God is near? How do you experience that?
  • What would you like to ask God? Tell Him? Thank Him for? Just do that.

Prayer: "Lord, thank you for always being there. Near and involved. Will You open my eyes and ears so that I will see You today? Amen."
