Bright Lights, Big CitySample

Have you ever found yourself comparing yourself to someone in your class or on your team? Maybe even a sibling or close friend? It’s easy to compare ourselves to others. We can look at the people around us and feel like they’re so much better at something than we are, right? At the end of the day, that can leave us feeling pretty awful about ourselves. The reason? Well, because it’s not the way we’re meant to live! The truth is, we’re all valued, unique, and loved in God’s eyes. Nothing about who we are is meant to be compared to anyone else. Instead, we’re all meant to use our unique gifts, personalities, and wiring with the world around us. We work together as God’s children to shine God’s light into the world.
This week, talk to your Small Group about your unique gifts and talents. Consider how you, as a group, can use those things to shine a little more of God’s light into the world together.
