Bright Lights, Big CitySample

Sometimes, the world can seem like a scary place. We see things that feel like darkness on the news, on social media, in our own lives, in the lives of people around us—all around us. In other words, we see sad, hard, hurtful things happening all the time. And while that can be incredibly overwhelming, as followers of Jesus, we are reminded that the darkness in this world doesn’t win. Jesus tells us that we can walk in the light when we follow Him. Not just any light, but His light—the light of the world that will lead us to the full life God has for us.
This week, write this verse down on a note card, piece of paper, or Post-It note. Underline the word “light” to let it stand out to you. Let it be a reminder that the light of the world is leading you when you walk with Jesus.
