Jesus is the Good Shepherd
Imagine a sheep without a shepherd. It would probably be lost, scared, and in danger, right? Sheep are completely dependent on their shepherd and rely on their shepherd to provide for them, guide them, and protect them from any danger. Some shepherds would go as far as to lose their lives while protecting their sheep.
Jesus is not just a good shepherd, rather He is the Good Shepherd, who was willing to lay His Life down for His flock. Jesus, our Shepherd, saw the dangers of sin and death that would destroy us and laid His Life down for our sake to protect us. And as the Good Shepherd, He rose from the dead and now lives to lead us toward the fullness of our relationship with Him.
As the sheep of Jesus, we should be dependent on Him. Our trust should be fully placed in Jesus and we should follow His Guidance for our life. John 10:27 tells us that the sheep of Christ hear His Voice and listen to it, that Jesus knows His sheep, and that His sheep will follow Him. Listen to His Voice and trust that He is leading you towards green pastures and still waters to refresh your soul. He knows you and knows your needs and struggles. If you follow Him, He will provide for what you need and protect you in times of danger. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who takes good care of His flock.
