# The Names of God [IMAGE CONTENT] Hello dear friend! Thank you for joining me for a week of miracles on “A Miracle Every Day.” My prayer is that God uses the power of His own names to bring about miracles in your life. Over the next seven days, we are going to explore the names God assigns to Himself in the Bible, so we can discover the unfathomable power available to each and every one of us. In my calling as a pastor, I have been sitting with people who are making tough life decisions. One family was making decisions about the health of their aging mother as she lay in the Intensive Care Unit. Another man was making decisions about confessing an addictive stronghold that has held him captive far too long. Another was facing the stark reality of having to lay off staff at their company. Other people were facing decisions about wanting to revitalize their marriage. Even others were making choices about infertility treatments, confronting an abuser, whether or not to foster a child, and choices about moving across the country to follow a dream. These are BIG decisions, and I noticed something. As we talked and prayed and sought God about these tough decisions, I heard something come out of their mouth—the name of Jesus. As we prayed together, these people who sincerely desired to say “YES” to God’s plan, would speak the name of Jesus over the problem. When you speak the name of JESUS over any decision, choice or opportunity, you bring that decision under the power and authority of God’s name! How powerful is that name? The Bible says: “The name of the Lord is a fortified tower; the righteous run to it and are safe.” (Proverbs 18:10, NIV) “Therefore, God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” (Philippians 2:9-11, NIV) “And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12, NIV) My friend, when we speak the names of our God—Jesus, Yeshua, YAHWEH, Elohim, Jehovah-Jireh (God our Provider), Jehovah Rophe (God our Healer), Adonai (Lord and Master), El Roi (the God who sees me), El Shaddai (God Almighty)—supernatural power is unleashed that can transform any moment into a miracle! Over the next week, we will hear and understand the power of God’s name. Why would we do this? Because, once again, when the names of God are spoken aloud, it brings His power into that decision, choice, situation, burden or opportunity! I don’t know what you are facing today but I do know that His name is available to you. Would you take a moment, right now, and speak the name of Jesus over whatever challenge you may be facing? Speak the name of Jesus over your family, your job, your calling, your health, your future and your life. There is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain, so pray that Name and be free!
