Listen: Guided by the Holy Spirit

DAY 1 OF 7

Introduction… Hearing God speak is a vital component to living a victorious life. We have been designed to hear Him speak. In other words, man has the capacity to hear God and respond accordingly. Our deepest desire is that hearing God would become the most natural way of life for you. We pray that it would be as natural as learning and expressing yourself in your home language. Join us on this adventure as we rediscover the art of hearing His voice! History Speaks Every believer on planet earth has a deep desire to know God’s will for their life. Since the earliest times, people have sought His guidance. The Garden of Eden tells the story of mankind walking in unbroken fellowship with God in perfect union. What a privilege, right!? This beautiful partnership was God’s heart from the very beginning. Having access to His heart and mind 24/7 was the original design for every human being. Genesis 3 changed that for all of us. This chapter ushers in the reality of life without God. Adam and Eve chose to do life without God. They chose to rely on their own understanding rather than God’s wisdom. The result of choosing a life without God led to pain, shame and guilt. This included the entire human race. However, from the Old Testament itself, it is clear that certain people could still hear the Lord for themselves, but largely people did not recognize or have confidence in hearing Him because of the impact of sin, which introduced distance between God and man. Although Man rejected God, God already had a glorious plan in mind. The restoration of humanity and creation would be found in the life and death and resurrection of His Son. Jesus Christ obliterated every measure of distance between us and the Father and fully dealt with the consequence of our shame. Through this divine exchange, our pain, guilt and shame has been exchanged for His grace, righteousness and authority to reign in this life. This lays a beautiful foundation for believers to live in the reality of a relationship with the Lord. As humans we are invited to discover our original design. The entire Bible reveals how God spoke to ordinary individuals. Yes, He is a communicator! From Genesis 3 onwards, it is very clear that God walked with ordinary people and that they communicated personally. Story upon story reveals the nature and the heart of God to connect with those He values most. Old Testament Scriptures like this one indicate the personal nature of His communication: Psalm 32:8 (AMPC) ‘I [the Lord] will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.’
