He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves. 13&#8220;It is written,&#8221; he said to them, &#8220;&#8198;&#8216;My house will be called a house of prayer,&#8217;#21:13 Isaiah 56:7 but you are making it &#8216;a den of robbers.&#8217;#21:13 Jer. 7:11&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 14The blind and the lame came to him at the temple, and he healed them. 15But when the chief priests and the teachers of the law saw the wonderful things he did and the children shouting in the temple courts, &#8220;Hosanna to the Son of David,&#8221; they were indignant.</div><div class="p"> 16&#8220;Do you hear what these children are saying?&#8221; they asked him.</div><div class="p"> &#8220;Yes,&#8221; replied Jesus, &#8220;have you never read,</div><div class="q1"> &#8220;&#8198;&#8216;From the lips of children and infants</div><div class="q2"> you, Lord, have called forth your praise&#8217; # 21:16

 (see Septuagint) ?&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 17And he left them and went out of the city to Bethany, where he spent the night.</div><div class="s1">Jesus Curses a Fig Tree</div><div class="p"> 18Early in the morning, as Jesus was on his way back to the city, he was hungry. 19Seeing a fig tree by the road, he went up to it but found nothing on it except leaves. Then he said to it, &#8220;May you never bear fruit again!&#8221; Immediately the tree withered.</div><div class="p"> 20When the disciples saw this, they were amazed. &#8220;How did the fig tree wither so quickly?&#8221; they asked.</div><div class="p"> 21Jesus replied, &#8220;Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, &#8216;Go, throw yourself into the sea,&#8217; and it will be done. 22If you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.&#8221;</div>

When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. 14Then he said to the tree, &#8220;May no one ever eat fruit from you again.&#8221; And his disciples heard him say it.</div><div class="p"> 15On reaching Jerusalem, Jesus entered the temple courts and began driving out those who were buying and selling there. He overturned the tables of the money changers and the benches of those selling doves, 16and would not allow anyone to carry merchandise through the temple courts. 17And as he taught them, he said, &#8220;Is it not written: &#8216;My house will be called a house of prayer for all nations&#8217;#11:17 Isaiah 56:7? But you have made it &#8216;a den of robbers.&#8217;#11:17 Jer. 7:11&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 18The chief priests and the teachers of the law heard this and began looking for a way to kill him, for they feared him, because the whole crowd was amazed at his teaching.</div><div class="p"> 19When evening came, Jesus and his disciples#11:19 Some early manuscripts came, Jesus went out of the city.</div><div class="p"> 20In the morning, as they went along, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots. 21Peter remembered and said to Jesus, &#8220;Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered!&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 22 &#8220;Have faith in God,&#8221; Jesus answered. 23&#8220;Truly#11:22,23 Some early manuscripts &#8220;If you have faith in God,&#8221; Jesus answered, 23 &#8220;truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, &#8216;Go, throw yourself into the sea,&#8217; and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. 24Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. 25And when you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins.&#8221; [26]#11:26 Some manuscripts include here words similar to Matt. 6:15.</div>

Stop turning my Father&#8217;s house into a market!&#8221; 17His disciples remembered that it is written: &#8220;Zeal for your house will consume me.&#8221;#2:17 Psalm 69:9</div><div class="p"> 18The Jews then responded to him, &#8220;What sign can you show us to prove your authority to do all this?&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 19Jesus answered them, &#8220;Destroy this temple, and I will raise it again in three days.&#8221;</div><div class="p"> 20They replied, &#8220;It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and you are going to raise it in three days?&#8221; 21But the temple he had spoken of was his body. 22After he was raised from the dead, his disciples recalled what he had said. Then they believed the scripture and the words that Jesus had spoken.</div><div class="p"> </div>
