Let’s be real: nobody reads the instruction booklet. Get a new phone? Throw the booklet away. Get a Polaroid camera? Press buttons till it works. The only time we tend to crack instructions open is when we play a new board game. But here’s the thing: ignoring the help provided by instructions can lead to a lot of confusion. Sometimes, people who follow Jesus take the same approach, especially when it comes to loving others. How can we truly love others if we don’t spend time learning from Jesus’s example of loving everyone?
