Playbook: The Game Plan for Navigating TemptationSample

Sometimes making a wise choice is lonely. When everyone else is doing the thing we know isn’t wise, it’s difficult to be the only one making a different decision. It’s hard to feel like the one missing out. Eventually, it can even feel like choosing what’s wise may not be worth it after all. In those moments, remember that God promises not just to give you strength to avoid the temptation to make an unwise choice. God also promises to stay with you on the road toward what’s wise for you. Because of that, you can know that you’ll never be left out or left alone in choosing what’s wise for your life.
Talk with a trusted adult in your life, like a parent, small group leader, or even an older sibling this week about how you can find God’s strength and encouragement to be wise and resist temptation, especially when it feels like you’re the only one.
