What Jesus Said About ForgivenessSample

Asking for forgiveness for our behavior and actions
How does God see forgiveness?
The therapeutic reasons for forgiveness are self-interest and self-actualization. You do it strictly for your own mental health, your own “freedom,” your own peace of mind, and your own physical and emotional health. True Christian forgiveness can and will bring you all those things but as by-products. The ground motive of biblical forgiveness is, first, to honor God. It is about his glory, his honor, and his will. God asks us to forgive as he has forgiven us. You should want the wrongdoer to repent for their sake, for God’s sake, and the sake of possible future victims.
The Bible says God wants us to forgive others because He forgives us (Colossians 3:13).
God encourages his followers to forgive without limit (Matthew 18:22).
God sees unforgiveness as a sin (James 4:17).
God wants us to eliminate unforgiveness and have hearts full of mercy, grace, and love (Matthew 5:7).
God wants us to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21).
God wants us to be ministers of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18-19).
About this Plan

Forgiveness is at the core of the gospel. Jesus came to die for our sins - so that we can be forgiven. God the Father expects the same from us: To forgive others. But it is not always easy for us to do it.
