Advance: Living Unstuck & Moving Forward in FaithSample

Day 17: From Selfishness to Compassion:
One of the ways that you can continue to advance is to show compassion to others. Compassion is love in action! Galatians 5:13 (NLT) reminds us, “for you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.” God has called us to be rivers of His love, not reservoirs.
Right now, people are more open than ever to receive the hope you have in Jesus. There are people in your sphere of influence who need you to share God’s love and hope with them. It could mean calling someone you know to check on them, texting someone that you are praying for them, or blessing someone in need. We may not be able to do everything, but we can do something.
Each one of us can do something. Don’t get overwhelmed by the big needs out there. Just do something with what you have. I encourage you to think of some way you can be an outlet for the love of God. Be a river of compassion, not a reservoir of stagnation. Think of someone you can bless or someone you can encourage. It’s amazing the joy it brings to your own heart when you begin to flow in God’s compassion. He will always refill you.
