God's Redemption Story (Judges - 2 Samuel)Sample

Saul - 1/5
Israel begged God for a king, but before long, they realized they didn’t know what was best. God saw they had rejected him as their king and warned them how a human king would oppress them. But he gave them exactly what they asked for, and they quickly regretted it.
How much energy do we spend begging God for what we think is best? We believe our plans will be great if we convince God to bless them. Imagine how differently things could have gone for Israel, how much less heartache they could have experienced if they had sought the Lord’s will over their own. Similarly, if we had done things God’s way in the past, we could have avoided painful detours and costly mistakes.
Fortunately, our God who loves us is bigger than our biggest mistakes, and he sent a savior to wash away our sin and heal our broken hearts.
