The Change
PRAYER FOR TODAY
Father God, thank You for Jesus, the guarantor of a better covenant! Unlike the former priests of the Old Testament (who were many in number), Jesus holds His priesthood permanently because He continues forever. Praise be to You!
Consequently, He is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to You through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for us (Hebrews 7:22-25). In speaking of a new covenant, Jesus makes the first one obsolete. And what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away (Hebrews 8:13).
Jesus, You are the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes (Romans 10:4); hallelujah! Spirit, please help us to live lives full of grace and kindness, reflecting the love and compassion of Jesus to all people.
ONE QUESTION
Have I completely put my trust in Jesus to make me right with God, or am I trying to earn my salvation through my own efforts?
