7 Key Points of the Gospel (Taken From Paul’s Letter to the Romans)Sample

Key Point 1: Truth
“They exchanged the truth about God for a lie” (Romans 1:25)
Over the centuries, people have pondered the concept of ‘truth.’ For a long time it was taken for granted that objective truth exists, and people wanted to find it. For example, at the entrance of the University of Freiburg in Breisgau it is written: “Die Wahrheit wird euch frei machen” - a quotation from the Lord Jesus (see John 8:31-32)!
Today, however, the existence of objective truth is debated. Especially when it comes to God and philosophical themes. Many believe that each person is allowed to have their own subjective truth, which cannot be judged objectively.
Paul clearly does not share this view. He says that people suppress the truth by their wickedness (Romans 1:18), and that they exchange the truth of God for a lie (Romans 1:25). So objective truth exists and it applies to all people! This truth is explained to us in the Bible.
Denying or distorting the truth incurs God's wrath (Romans 1:18). But if we discover and accept it, this truth sets us free.
What is your understanding of truth? Does your view of truth match Paul's statements about objective truth which we all need to accept?
