Trusting God In The Eye Of The Storm

DAY 3 OF 5

Freedom in Christ For the past 2 years, I've been in a season of tremendous stretching! At the beginning of 2015, I received a word of wisdom from a mentor of mine. He said, "Ryan, the word for 2015 is TRUST." I've discovered that I've lived with a vicious cycle in my life of wanting to trust and trying to force myself to trust out of sheer willpower, but then ultimately sliding back into the trap of clenching my prized possession out of fear, ultimately feeling defeated and hopeless. I feel like I'm just now receiving revelation about God's grace! Learning about His grace is changing my life. Understanding that He is love and that I'm not separated from Him has changed me! I'm experiencing a freedom that I've never known. I feel like I'm relearning the good news of the Gospel, which is the fact that Jesus has already entered into our realm of existence and is eager to participate in our journey of healing and wholeness. He's already come into the middle of our storms and messes and says, "I'll walk with you if you let me." I want to encourage you today; instead of exhausting yourself on the treadmill of performance, try crawling up into the lap of Jesus, and let go! Prayer: "Lord Jesus, give me a revelation in my heart today that knows You are good! Father, I get weary and worried, and I need You to pour out Your peace into my life right now. Please give me the reassurance to keep moving forward even when I am not feeling like it. Please bring people into my life who will speak truth and encouragement when I'm feeling discouraged. I give all of my life to You, and I ask that You do whatever it takes to build my faith. Use me for Your Kingdom! I love You, Lord!"
