RevelationSample

Revelation 4 introduces us to a glimpse of God in heaven, seated on his throne, looking down on the Earth. We can’t live without the concept of a throne, a supreme ruler or power in our lives. And if its not God, then we will end up placing ourselves on the throne, or another person, or our selfish desires, or any number of things. People have done this over and over again throughout history.
But thankfully, we’re not the ones sitting on the throne - God is. The image of God on a throne reminds us that He is sovereign and King over all creation. Nothing can shake his throne and no one can topple God from His throne and take His place. No matter what comes in our lives, God is still on the throne and He is still in control. And that should give us great peace and rest.

About this Plan

The apocalypse ("uncovering" in Greek) that John receives reveals the nature of the world as it is and will one day be. Amidst all of the cosmic imagery is a Lamb and its army who conquer through the power of sacrificial love. This 8-week plan is written by the church and for the church as we seek to follow Jesus in the 21st century.
