Growing Our Church Family Part 3Sample

ZEALOUS FOR GOOD WORKS
In Jesus Christ we have salvation and we have hope. That’s great news! In this letter to Titus, what are some of the effects on the lives of believers who know this good news? Being “zealous” for good works is much different than being zealous for a cause. In God’s Kingdom, mercy, compassion, and righteousness compel Christ’s followers to love and serve just as Jesus did. This can only be done well when we submit to God’s will and allow the power of the Holy Spirit to work through us.
Ask Yourself:
-What has Jesus’ sacrifice meant for your life?
-What kinds of things are you zealous for?
Pause to Pray for the Church: Pray for the whole Church to be zealous for God’s good work in this world.
Take a Next Step into Christian community: Ask a friend, family member, or mentor to hold you accountable to take a step toward God this week. Consider a daily prayer time, signing up to serve locally, or another “good work.”

About this Plan

When Jesus called his disciples to follow Him, they made a commitment to discipleship in the context of community. And from that point forward, the Church has been built on this same idea. But how can broken and sinful people who disagree about so many things work together for God’s Kingdom? Join us as we explore what it means to be the church: devoted, connected, and discipled brothers and sisters.
