# Intake ## A strong leader recognizes that they can’t exercise their way out of bad eating habits. When it comes to calories, one hour in the gym can be negated by eating a few Oreos. In 1 Corinthians 10:31 we see that whatever we eat, or drink should be done for the glory of God. This is a difficult topic for many men, and every person is unique in what works for them. One practice that may help is to envision Jesus at the table with you when it is time to eat. Ask yourself, “If Jesus were physically here, would what I’m about to eat be something I would offer Him?” Another helpful practice is to look at the nutritional information and ingredients on packages. Remember, you are building a temple, so if you cannot pronounce some of the words on the ingredients list, should you really be putting that fuel in your tank? Lastly, consider portion size and timing. Since we are to glorify God in what we eat, we should ensure the amount is not excessive. Downing a massive number of calories less than three hours before bedtime is not a great habit to fall into. Lions eat to provide and sustain the energy needed to serve and glorify God daily. They avoid gluttonous behavior and are careful about the amount and types of foods they allow into their body. ### Question to Consider 1. If you had to serve Jesus the last three meals you ate, would you be excited or scared for what is on the plate before him? 2. What is one bad eating habit you currently have that you will commit to changing to glorify God? 3. What actions will you commit to today to be the leader God intends you to be?
