Selfish ambition and jealousy will ruin any institution. “For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind” says James. Wisdom is not jealous. It has no ambition except for the glorification of God and the bolstering of others. James also says “Those who are peacemakers will plant seeds of peace and reap a harvest of righteousness.” Peacemaking should be an imperative for us as Christians, especially in regards to fellow believers. Let’s reflect on how we can be peacemakers today.

About this Plan

The Epistle of James has so much to offer us as followers of Jesus today. It was originally written to Jewish Christians spread all over the ancient world. The message is straight to the point, practical, and challenging. Wherever we find ourselves following Jesus, this letter can help us realize how our spiritual and practical life should be one in the same.
