Your First Chapter: Remember What Matters Most

DAY 1 OF 8

# Are You Planning for the Long Term? [IMAGE CONTENT] Every step you skip now will catch up with you in the long run! Ah, how many times I heard those words from my producer at the beginning of our work together. When I first shot through the media as "the singing flight attendant," I got many invitations to special events and big stages, but the point is: this sudden notoriety was totally unexpected and I wasn't really ready for it. "You need your own song first," my producer kept saying. I didn't have a song, nor did I know who I was or what I wanted to say through music. Any further step into the public eye would have been celebrated by others—because I had even recorded a great party song—but do you think anyone would have believed my message today, now that I know who I am? How did I get to know what God wanted of me? I started reading the Bible. I was amazed when I started to read it from the beginning. On page one, the creation story begins. In it we read that God, after six days of work, reached the completion of His design plan and rested. We also read: “Then God said, ‘Let the land produce plants. Let them produce their own seeds. And let there be trees on the land that grow fruit with seeds in it. Let each kind of plant or tree have its own kind of seeds.’ And that’s exactly what happened.” (Genesis 1:11 NiRV God planned for the long term from the beginning, with no shortcuts. He planned so that His work would bear fruit! Do you already know what kind of message you want the song of your life to carry? Do you already know who you are? Will your steps today bear useful fruit tomorrow? Or are you possibly skipping a step right now? Believe me, the step you skip today is the step that will take time in the long run. Do you know that God wants to help you with all this? Let's pray. "Lord, show me your ways. Teach me how to follow You." (Psalm 25:4 NiRV) You are a miracle! Déborah P.S.
